Goa Road Trip from Ahmedabad | Pet-friendly Resort

Ace P

Updated: Apr 24, 2024

Finally, the most awaited trip!! We got the chance to visit Goa with Ace; this 1136 km drive was totally worth the time, money and effort. We went with our family friends in a group of 16, and Ace loved all the attention he got from them as well as the people in Goa. Embraced by numerous pats from strangers, Ace undeniably relished his time in Goa.

The entire trip spanned 9 days, encompassing 4 days in Goa and 1 day with 2 nights in Lonavala. To enhance Ace's comfort during the journey, we bought a pet mat from Heads Up For Tails (https://amzn.to/3QDTKhN - Size XL)

Here is our detailed itinerary:

Day 1:

We departed from Ahmedabad in the early morning and arrived in Lonavala by evening. Our accommodation at 'The Bark - An Art Resort' (an excellent budget-friendly option for staying with pets) provided a very comfortable experience.

Day 2:

We both aren't morning people :P , so we visited Lohagarh fort around noon. Fortunately, the weather was delightful, and the ascent involved approximately 300 steps, rewarding us with a stunning view from the summit. It's advisable to bring along a pet bowl and water for your dog, considering that the climb can be quite exhausting for them.

In the evening, we went to Tigers point, where Ace enjoyed the windy weather, and we savored our Maggi :D

Day 3:

We set off for Goa once more in the early morning and arrived at our destination, the 'Heritage Village Resort.' We wholeheartedly recommend this establishment; the staff is incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure our stay with Ace was comfortable.

Arossim beach is directly behind the hotel, perfect for your pup to enjoy the beach and morning & evening walks!

Day 4-7:

As September is off-season in Goa, boating to Butterfly beach or kayaking was not possible. We may possibly cover these activities on our next trip to Goa. 😜

Here are the activities we did and the places we visited in Goa:

  • Pool time in the resort: Pets are not allowed, but Ace was already tired from the road trip, so he slept in the room while we relished some group time.

Heritage Village Resort & Spa
  • Salaulim Dam: The construction of this dam is quite unique, and you will undoubtedly enjoy your visit here. This engineering marvel is certain to mesmerize you, and the best time to visit this place would be during the monsoon season.

Salaulim Dam
  • Cola beach: This is a peaceful place in South Goa with kayaking in backwaters. It was closed in September, though. You can still enjoy your time here in the backwaters during the off-season.

  • Cabo De Rama Cliff Viewpoint: On your way to Cola beach, you can explore this place with astonishing view for 20-30 minutes and click some Instagrammable photos!! Here is ours :P :

  • Thalassa: We went for a couple of hours with Ace, and he looked extremely happy. Since the place is semi-open, the music isn't very loud like other clubs.

  • The Southern Deck: This is a pet-friendly restaurant located on the beach featuring live music on select days. It's a must-visit place to explore with your pet.
